Another 2020 Lesson

By News Nov 11, 2020 | 7:16 AM

Nearly every Thanksgiving cook has at one time or another made a mistake cooking the turkey — whether a minor one or a disaster — and now Whole Foods is providing some backup for those who do. Whole Foods has teamed up with Progressive Insurance on a Thanksgiving Turkey Protection Plan. People who buy a turkey at Whole Foods will be eligible for the turkey insurance, which will give them a $35 Whole Foods gift card for mistakes cooking the holiday bird. The company said they created the insurance this year in response to there being more cooks who are going to make a turkey for the first time because of smaller Thanksgiving gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic. To qualify for the insurance, shoppers have to buy their Whole Foods brand turkey either in-store or via Amazon Prime between today, November 11th, and November 22nd. A claim for a $35 gift card can be submitted between November 26th and 27th if the turkey ends up, “overcooked, undercooked, burnt, dry, or just doesn’t end up cooking like you thought it would.” The claim has to include the receipt, pictures of the turkey, and a short explanation of the turkey cooking mistakes. There is a catch — the offer is limited to the first 1,000 claims.
