Pizzas are baked in circles or squares, but the internet is up in arms after someone posted a photo of a circular pie cut up into small rectangular pieces. The person tweeted, “All my Chicagoans…which piece are you picking up first” and labeled sections of the pizza one through four. Many Twitter users claiming to be from Chicago and St. Louis agreed that the “1” section, or slices from the top left corner of the pie, were most desirable. But not everyone agreed. Some respondents claiming to be from the East Coast were downright offended by a circular pizza cut into square pieces. One East Coaster tweeted, “Who’s the genius who thought it made sense to cut a round pie into tiny rectangular pieces?” Then a few professionally written articles argued about both perspectives.
For me it’s simple…and I make a pretty damn good pizza, just ask my kids or grandkids! If it’s round, triangles. On a baking sheet, squares. It’s that easy…
