The regular season for the High School Football teams in the state is over and for over 224 teams, the playoffs begin this Friday! Congratulations are in order for area teams making it to the postseason for the first time in a number of years.
The Rhinelander Hodags have a 4-3 conference record and a 7-3 record overall as they head into the playoffs for only the third time in school history. They face River Falls in a contest at UW River Falls. The Hodags earned a spot in the postseason following a 16-12 win at Ashland on Friday, October 18. We’ll have the game on 101.3 FM, Hodag Legends this Friday at 6:30 pm.
Lakeland will also be competing in postseason play for the first time in ten years, as they take on the Menomonee Mustangs at UW Stout. You can hear that game Friday night on Kool 95.9, WMQA at 6:30 pm.
Other area football teams heading to State include Northland Pines, traveling to Freedom and Wittenberg Birnamwood playing at Chilton.
