As you already know (at least I hope you do) WHDG, Hodag Country is a quarter-century old. Yep, 25 years of playing the best country on the radio and it’s changed a lot over those years. And we’ve gone through a lot of changes, too. I’ve spent 15 of those years here, not all on Hodag, but in a couple of the other stations owned by our company. It’s been a thrill as the torch for the Morning Hodag was passed to me and it’s been a blast. I thank all of you who listen and take part in what we do, whether it’s on the air, at a remote broadcast, at the Hodag Country Festival and the list goes on.
What I’d like you to do is listen in to Al Higgins’ show on Friday the 20th. He’s written and produced a retrospective history of the station from the very first song to where we are today. It includes the top songs from each of the 25 years we’ve been on and features many of the personalities you’ve come to know over that time. It’s a tremendous program that’s worth a listen if you’re a Hodag Country fan. I’m proud to be here and hope to stay on as long as they, and you, will have me.
